The model YAL 1100 combines a battery charger and a 12 volts power adapter in one housing.

The battery charger is designed to charge 12 volts starter batteries (lead-acid) with a capacity of 15 to 110 ampere hours (Ah).
Fields of application: cars, diesel-cars, vans, mobile homes, scooters, motorbikes, quads, motorboats, sailing boats, sporting aeroplanes, modelling, lawn mowers, and many others.

The adapter offers the possibility to operate mobile electric appliances, e.g. cool boxes, fans, compressors, vacuum cleaners, coffee machines with a power rating of up to 100 watts at the 230 volts mains supply. Consequently the 12 volts adapter YAL 1100 is in particular applied in the field of leisure, camping and long distance traffic.

In order to utilise the unit as 12 volts power adapter the mobile electric appliances have to be plugged into the 12 volt socket of the adapter. Then the adapter is connected to mains.

The 12 volts power adapter provides a save, smoothed 12 volts DC power supply. By means of a switch two power levels - 50 watts or 100 watts - can be selected.

In order to utilise the unit as battery charger the battery clips have to be connected to the battery. Then the battery charger has to be linked to mains. By means of a selector switch the charger can be adjusted to the battery capacity optimally.

A yellow LED indicates that battery charging is in progress or a 12 volt electric appliance is connected. A green LED indicates the end of the charging process. A red LED warns against malfunction of the unit.

For both applications the device is protected against overload and reverse polarity connection of the battery clips and the cigarette lighter plug. This protection is achieved alternatively by a replaceable 15A flat fuse or a circuit breaker.

The mains - safety transformers comply with the European norms. The transformers are protected against overload, overheating and short circuit by a temperature- and current sensitive component. After cooling down of the transformer and disconnecting from mains the component is set back automatically; the charger is fully operational again.

In addition the charger is equipped with fully insulated battery clips.

The battery chargers with 12 volts power adapter comply with European norms and are marked CE.
